Description
This is a 38″ x 120″ S/S, 1440 PSI Sour Gas Filter Separator designed to remove trace liquids and solids down to 98% of 1 micron and larger. This is a great workhorse unit normally situated downstream of an Inlet Separator and upstream of a recip compressor to eliminate liquids.
It flows outside in thru the Qty 34 fibreglass filter elements, to where the solids are trapped and the related liquids are coalesced into larger droplets and removed in the second stage impingement separation device, second stage wire mesh pads, two different thicknesses and densities.
It has the JFG 336 which are the one (1) micron version Filters, these are the standard 4.5” O.D. x 36” long and are available at a variety of Filter houses.
Downturn is a concern with these units where velocity is too slow, and if you’re removing trace liquids then this would compromise removal efficiencies of liquids only, solids no issue. When this happens in the field, we blank off some filters to increase velocity. Also, we wouldn’t recommend this on the discharge of a compressor to remove lube oil aerosols as it won’t get you down to the efficiencies.
We can evaluate flows based on operating pressures, these can handle a very healthy flow rate if inlet pressures are above 500 psig and the flow will fall off as the pressure drops.
Please provide your application details for sizing, including:
- Expected gas flow rate
- Operating temp
- Operating pressure
- Molecular Weight of Gas or Specific gravity
